Poem: Did I write this?

Looking through my phone’s notes and found this poem. Did I write it? Why else would it be on my phone? It’s from February 2020. Usually I note the writer if I save something.

This is a strange sensation. I quite like it. How odd. Maybe it isn’t mine. I’ve googled the first line and nothing came up.

Any idea?

Squirrel

every day a new challenge

no stunt doubles, this is all about me.

I’m ready.

A mad sprint across the wire,

bounce across the grey pavement patio,

up the pole

and then

a leap into the void to

dangle by the feet,

one eye on the undergrowth.

They get their money’s worth,

it’s exhausting this business

but worth it for the cheers from the sparrows

and the adulation of the cat.

Victorious once more

I exit, my trophy in my paw.
